Meet the Client

Focus Development Group was founded in 1992 in Florida and began selling hotel bookkeeping software in 1993.  By 1995, FOCUS’ products were endorsed by 2 of the world’s leading hotel franchising companies. In 1998, the company relocated to Pittsburgh, and by 1999 their products were used by hundreds of properties across the country. 

In 2010 Focus recognized a new need for their hotel clientele, when a prospective client communicated interest in the software but explained that they would not be able to have the employee staff necessary to use the software. They proposed that FOCUS take on the bookkeeping completely, using the software product.   

This brought Focus to where they are today:  Focus – Hotel Bookkeeping. Simplified.

Repositioning Services

Focus came to Blue Archer for a website overhaul. During the strategy phase for the website project, FOCUS explained how their services have changed over the years to now, fully manage the bookkeeping process for their existing & future clients.  This discussion formed a very important goal for the content & messaging for the new website. The current website focused only on the software, positioning FOCUS more as a software development partner and less as a full service management company. The new website needed to change that and reframe the services.  In addition to better defining services, Focus’s current site was outdated & was difficult to navigate and was not optimized for mobile devices. 

Ensuring Project Success

John was a fantastic client & contact for this project.  His knowledge of the hotel industry and what Hotel Managers or back-office Hotel staff deals with on the day to day was crucial to creating excellent new content for the site.   This fresh content allows potential clients to quickly get the information they need about Focus’ service offerings and how it can save the Hotel Manager time, allowing them to improve attention that is better spent on hotel guests & managing hotel staff.
