Worlds in Motion Success Story
The Heinz History Center needed a dynamic website for their three-year collaboration between the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center, renowned scholars, American Indians who are experts in the history of their communities, and a group of 26 master teachers in elementary and secondary education. The teachers, from six states representing the geographical region of focus, developed exemplary curriculum with a new examination of the complexities of interaction among eastern American Indians, colonists, and Europeans from precontact through colonial times.
In order to convey the experience of being at the museum, a dynamic, colorful, and easy to use website was envisioned that would support the posting of the comprehensive curriculum developed during the collaboration, as well as support the posting and streaming of videos. AccuCMS provided users with the ability to populate, store, and organize this information. The design process focused on the accessibility of this information, and the result is the primary resource for many students, teachers, and history enthusiasts.
