People like pictures. Why? Well, probably because we are lazy. If we can garner sufficient information by a few effortless glances, for the most part, we'd rather do that then leaf through verbose, dense text.  Naturally, graphics with tons of information have gleaned the attention of web designers  and web users alike.

Sure, YouTube is great for watching movie trailers, listening to music, and watching videos. Slideshare, however, is a different kind of visual sharing database. It is a site that is tailored solely to slideshows (hence, the name), and it can be a powerful tool for sharing a combination of informational presentations, statistics, and still photos.
