Selling Later came to Blue Archer as an idea, and together we transformed the vision for home owners to be able to list properties for sale in the near future into a reality. The website is now a resource for both buyers and sellers looking to enter the real estate market within the next year.
Our team needed to create a system that puts the seller in control of when and how they can sell their house by enabling them to gauge interest, warm the market, stage potential buyers, and manage privacy levels – all prior to entering the real estate market with a realtor. Buyers, on the other hand, would benefit from being able to contact potential sellers directly before their dream house hits the market. The single biggest challenge for the team was to create a solution that would communicate why a homeowner should list their house on Selling Later and why potential buyer should explore listings.
Together, our team of developers, designers, and a dedicated project manager created a system and website that flips the traditional real estate market on its head. Complete with intuitive front-end search, customized dashboards, messaging, and reporting, the custom software system and website has everything Selling Later needed to launch.
The system includes simple account registration for both buyers and sellers. Seller accounts include a comprehensive dashboard where they can manage their listing including imagery, address, lot size, estimated price, bedroom and bathroom numbers, school district, potential upgrades, and more. In this intuitive dashboard, users can renew expired listings and convert a prospective listing to a “now for sale” item. Buyer accounts include their own unique dashboard where they can set and save search details, manage alerts, and message buyers. Non-registered users can explore listings using the general front-end search functionality but cannot submit inquiries.

After analyzing the existing market of competitors like Trulia, Zillow, Redfin, and more, it was clear there was an industry standard when it came to design. Serif headings, beautiful homes, blue skies, and strategic white space were all cornerstones of real estate design. Our team needed to set the website apart from other alternatives while still adhering to some of the industry design pillars in order to solidify brand credibility and trustworthiness. The final design combines a unique color scheme with familiar iconography.
