DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects) is %100 behind the goal of advancing AI in helping to grow the US economy and better the aspects of tech.

Some features they wish the enhance are creating systems with advanced common sense while being energy efficient. They hope to advance AI to be able to understand itself and explain its algorithm which is like their thought process. Lastly, they hope to enhance security measures by automating security clearances.

Data Analyzing

Like humans, computers need time to learn. For example, a computer might be given the task of identifying all pictures with a dog. Over time, if shown enough pictures the system will soon be able to identify which pictures include a dog. However, these AI systems require thousands of data sets which means thousands of microchips to be processed. This could take ample time.

These systems will surprise you with what they cannot do. They do not have the human touch to identify emotions, detailed/vague questions, or even respect the human boundaries. These are things AI will need to learn and progress through the time of tech development. The goal is to teach AI in ways that humans learn for these algorithms to adapt to human lifestyles.

If AI positively advances, DARPA will invest even more money into measures regarding national security and even military.
