Happy Friday!

Good morning everyone!  It’s time to get excited to check out the latest news going on within the technology industry.  We’ll first look into what the father of the Internet says about basic human rights, what tech. companies are advancing in 3-D printing, and a DIY computer kit for kids!

Know Your Rights

Tim Berners-Lee, the computer scientist credited with inventing the World Wide Web says affordable access to the Internet should be recognized as a human right, when looking at a report that shows billions of people still unable to go online and an increase in government censorship.  Tim believes that Internet packages should be delivered to all without commercial or political discrimination.

A 3-D Advantage

Hewlett-Packard has made the headlines with their big announcement about moving into the 3-D printing business in a big way.  The manufacturing crowd has been anxiously anticipating this move for years, but HP is only the latest OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to take this turn.  Over the last decade, hundreds of major manufacturers have been quietly investing in 3-D printing technologies, investigating their potential and weighing the future impact.
