Maintaining your social media presence is a daunting task. A few daily updates, across multiple platforms adds up quickly. Having a strategy to streamline you updates will shore up you social media presence and relieve some unwelcome stress.

Organize.

The best thing you can do for yourself when approaching social media is to plan in advance. It is recommended that anyone who is using social media to promote their content use create an editorial calendar. Creating such a calendar allows you time to plan in advance the type of content you wish to publish across you social media platforms. Post, status updates, shared links can be planned in advance and attention can be given to special dates such as holidays.

By creating an editorial calendar you afford yourself more time to research your audience. You can decide in advance how many times a week or per day you would like to post. You are also given more opportunity to write and review your content before it is published.

Hootsuite is a handy (and free) tool that can help you effectively schedule your social media updates across all your platforms.
