Pittsburgh Social Media Day

Professionals in the digital marketing world came together to share ideas and network on June, 30th 2015 for Social Media Day. While it is not quite a national holiday (yet), our city was happy to participate after working hours.

When Did It Start?

Mashable launched Social Media Day in 2010 as a way to recognize and celebrate social media's impact on global communication.

This day was created by Mashable and has been celebrated over the years in major cities. Social media is a growing part of our lives and businesses so it only makes sense to give it its own day.

Speakers

Whether it’s raising funds to build inspiring programs to bring art to the inner city, motivating an entire population to take action after a natural disaster or empowering nations to rise up against oppressive regimes – social media has become a force for social good.

In Pittsburgh, individuals gathered at a meeting space owned by the Smith Brother's Agency to celebrate. Some of our best social influencers and businesses shared insights on their digital presence.
