It's Friday again, which means it's time to kick your feet up, take a deep breath, and relax.  Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and I know I'm not the only one starting to have cravings for turkey and stuffing.  But before the holiday is here, there's still so much happening in the internet world.  Things are constantly changing--but don't worry!  We have you covered.  Here's what you may have missed:

Google

Google Wallet made its debut in 2011.  Since then, it's been a big hit for both consumers, and small businesses.  But now Google Wallet has made some much needed updates.  Google has released it's new physical debit card, which is linked to the digital wallet service that they offer.  This means that users who use Google Wallet will be able to buy goods at stores, and even withdraw cash from ATMs.  However, Google may be using this new feature to their advantage as well.  Google will be tracking transactions made with their new card, and using that information to help with theyr target advertising.

Twitter

Everyone knows that Twitter has quite the following, with millions of users.  But what you may not have known is that almost half of all Twitter users live in only five countries.  Can you guess which countries those are?  Well for starters, the United States has one of the biggest Twitter followings.   24.3% of twitter users are from the United States alone.  After the United States is: Japan, Indonesia, the U.K., and Brazil.

Pinterest

Pinterest, which has been a growing commodity, even among businesses, just released a new feature.  It's called "Place Pins".  These pins are focused on travel.  Pinterest has a map layout, and pins are connected to a location.  This new feature is supposed to be targeted for traveling.  For example, you can repine a picture of a beautiful mountain landscape, and Pinterest's new feature will tell you that landscape is in Colorado.  This is quite the interesting new feature.  It wouldn't be surprising to see Pinterest release even more new features in the near future.

2013 Ads

One of the best ways to learn about working marketing strategies is to look at ads that already exist for other companies.  What does it look like?  How do people react to it?  Is it working?  That's what this list is for.  This is a list of the most-shared ads of 2013.  Obviously, these people are doing something right.  To grace the list is Dove's commercial of "Real Beauty Sketches".  There's also Geico's "Hump Day" ad, which was impossible not to see and laugh at.  Another favorite on the list was PooPourri's "Girls Don't Poop" commercial, which many people assumed was for a fake product.  (Hint: It's not).  It's never a bad idea to learn from the pros!

Mobile

Mobile advertising is no longer a thing of the future--it's a thing of the future.  Getting in to mobile advertising can be an extreme advantage for your business--no matter how big or small.  However, mobile advertising presents some tough challenges that businesses need to work around.  In most cases, mobile advertising only presents a small window that must be worked around.  Ads need to be short, sweet, and to the point.  And they also need to make consumers laugh.  However, if you can crack the code into mobile advertising, it's sure to pay off.
