For many decades, the “smart home” has always been a dream for the average household because of it’s high expense. However, now that the costs for creating a connected home are dropping, device makers, utilities, telecoms and other companies are gearing up for what’s being called the battle beyond the living room.

Shareholders Sue Apple

On behalf of all Apple shareholders, one shareholder has decided to sue the Cupertino company over its alleged anti-poaching agreements with other Silicon Valley tech companies, according to Patently Apple. The shareholders ’ lawsuit says the alleged no-hire agreements caused Apple to engage in “breach of fiduciary duty, gross mismanagement, waste of corporate assets, and breach of duty of honest services.”

Headphones That Track Your Heart Rate

SMS Audio’s BioSport In-Ear Headphones now have the capability to tell you what you’re heart rate is when you’re running. The Headphones have sensors to measure the heart rate of users, drawing power from a smartphone through an audio jack.

Airport Cell Service Report

One of the biggest inconveniences at an airport, besides the long lines and TSA pat-downs, is the spotty cell phone services. Now a new report from mobile industry research firm RootMetrics aims to quantify that headache.
