Good morning Pittsburgh!  Lots of things have been going on in the tech industry this week, from a hacking scandal that has put the iCloud in a vulnerable position, to Samsung giving their insight on the future of our homes. 

iCloud Under Attack

The CEO from Apple, Tim Cook, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal Thursday evening that the company is working on increasing the security on the iCloud following the incident that leaked nude photos of celebrities online.

The Phorce Behind Technology

In today’s day and age, everyone seems to be walking around with some kind of technology device, whether it be a phone, tablet, computer or even watch now.  Most of us go about our days carrying around more than one device.  So one thing that has always seemed to be a burden about hauling around tech devices everywhere, is being able to keep their battery life going.  Well a Dutch start up company thinks it has created the answer.  Their answer is the Phorce bag, which claims it can chare and iPhone 5S up to 15 x.

DIY Health Care

NASA’a Ames Research Center in Mountain View California has been working on an experiment that is testing a Smartphone app on diagnosing health symptoms.  Scandu is working on creating a self-diagnosis kit.  They are competing as one of ten teams taking part in the Qualcomm Tricorder X Prize contest to create an affordable, handheld device that consumers can use to diagnose their medical conditions at home.

Samsung on the Smarthome

“For many, it’s still just a vision, but change is coming and it’s coming fast,” says BK Yoon, president and CEO of Samsung, during the 2014 IFA tech conference.  Smartphones and tablets have changed the way we live in only a couple of years, and the time is coming when our homes will be just as in tune with our daily lives.
