I believe it is safe to say that content curators pretty much rule the web.  In the words of Steven Rosenbaum, author of Curation Nation, “content curators are the new super heroes of the web.”  When it comes to the Internet, information is being churned out faster than the blink of an eye.  Having a knack for churning out quality content is a quality with value that is continually on the rise.

Here is a list of actionable content marketing tips:

  1. Determine the topic you want to be known for.  Go narrow or broad.  Think subtopic related to your brand or company.
  2. Start with Google Alerts and Alltop and extend your posts to the key media entities and social media forums.
  3. Create curation stations.  Set up a set of places and systems for selecting and sharing the quality in formation you find.  Test the best technologies and platforms for you.
  4. Create a mix of content formats.
  5. Perform a content audit across your organization.  You never know where items of value might be hiding, lost without any categorization.
  6. Enhance every new piece of content across formats with metadata.  You need to be able to find, store and retrieve your content.
  7. Curate content created by the key influencers in your niche on social media.  Don’t just share every piece of content and communication that your target influencers publish.

By following these tips, you are providing your audience with valuable content, saving them the time it would take to search the web.  Marketers constantly feel the need to continually create more and more content, so it is especially important to have key techniques make your work memorable.
